We are having a great time in first grade! This week we have had a fun time learning how to be ready, respectful, and responsible. We are learning what each of these look like in every school setting. Please encourage your children to follow our 3 important school rules which also serve as great rules to live by.
Today we began giving out dragon dollars to the students who were exhibiting ready, respectful, and responsible behaviors. We will continue to do this for the remainder of the school year. Every three weeks we will have a dragon dollar store where the students can spend their hard earned dragon dollars. Ask your child how many dragon dollars they received today!
Next week you will see a reading book come home with your child. We will begin our weekly reading stories as well as weekly spelling words. We will also begin C.O.R.E. very soon, which is a time for students to gather in reading readiness groups to better serve each students unique and special reading needs.
